The Msnbc Digital Network and BermanBraun Announce an Extension of the Popular Wonderwall site into the Political Arena
Site will explore the celebrity side of politics
Posted by Kristin Blog on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 9:50 AM
Politicians have now become part of popular culture, and de-facto celebrities, attracting considerable media attention. BermanBraun and the Msnbc Digital Network announced a partnership to create an original destination site which will go beyond policy and polls to explore the celebrity side of politics. The new site, launching later this year, will be an extension of the popular entertainment and celebrity destination Wonderwall. It will take you inside the beltway to explore the lives of politicians as celebrities, giving politics the Wonderwall treatment.
“We are excited to partner with BermanBraun to build content experiences that are not only compelling for consumers but also attractive to our advertisers,” said Charlie Tillinghast, President of the Msnbc Digital Network. “BermanBraun has been innovative and creative with advertising and we look forward to reaching out to our key clients to continue to deliver effective and impactful solutions.”
“Many of our most fascinating public figures live in the world of politics,” said BermanBraun partners Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun. “We feel the political arena is a natural extension of the Wonderwall brand, and we are excited to partner in this new endeavor with msnbc.”
Wonderwall, which is also a partnership between MSN and BermanBraun launched in February 2009, and has become one of the top celebrity online news destinations. This new site aims to build on this success. BermanBraun will spearhead the design, programming, and operations of this new digital brand. The Msnbc Digital Network will distribute the site, provide unique content and lead the advertising efforts in partnership with Microsoft and BermanBraun. The site will also be promoted on MSN via headlines on our homepage and through-out our MSN network.

Posted by Kristin Blog on Thursday, May 20, 2010 9:54 AM
We have all experienced customer service in one way or another -- and good or bad it leaves an impression of the type of company we are dealing with. Are there any companies that stick out to you as having great customer service or maybe the other way around? Today, we have rolled out the results from the Fourth Annual MSN Money-Zogby International customer-service survey for 2010. There were a few new companies that topped the list and surprisingly or not there are a few companies that have graced the Hall of Shame three and four years in a row.
Below are the top 10 companies that made the Hall of Shame and Fame categories. For the complete rundown on the methodology of the survey as well as the full list of the results you can read the entire article on MSN Money.
Top 10 Hall of Shame:
Why are there so many financial institutions on the list? What do they all have in common? Journalist Karen Aho gives us all the details on the 10 Companies We Love to Hate.

Top 10 Hall of Fame:
The list of the 10 Companies That Treat You Right surely has some familiar and expected names, but maybe a few surprises. Again, Karen Aho talked with some of these companies’ representatives to find out how they have built their reputation and customer service skills that put them on this list.
Ranked by percentage of respondents saying a company’s service was “excellent”
Customer service is something that is relevant to everyone in one way or another. New MSN Mobile homepage launches
Smart phone users are offered the most usable, relevant mobile experience
Posted by Shannon Blogs on Thursday, May 13, 2010 9:00 AM
If you check out MSN Mobile today, you’ll see some big changes. We’re excited to announce the launch of the new MSN Mobile homepage!
So, what’s the difference between the old homepage and the new one? Since pictures speak a thousand words...
We went from this: To this:
The first thing you may notice is that the new MSN Mobile homepage shares the same look and feel of the MSN homepage we launched in March. What you don’t see in the picture, although it’s there, is that the design is optimized for mobile devices and the performance improvements make the page really, really fast to download.
The new MSN Mobile homepage offers mobile internet users access to a broad range of content and services that they need to stay in the know. The page design provides smart phone users with the most usable, relevant mobile experience. From the new homepage, MSN Mobile users can enjoy access to a broad range of content and services, including programmed, dynamic news, sports, entertainment, video, money, weather, astrology, and dating content, along with 1-click access to services such as Bing, Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live Messenger.
But what’s more is that there’s a great deal of innovation in the way we’re presenting the content. We’ve consolidated the top content into above-the-fold tabs that remember what you were looking at when you come back. Smart headlines on the tabs engage our users, and since we’ve expanded deep navigation links from 10 to over 30, users have triple the visibility of our most popular content.
Users can easily access Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live Messenger with 1-click:
Prominent integration of Bing makes it easy to search. Here’s a look at the Bing auto-suggest feature:
And what’s more is that users can personalize the page by expanding and collapsing to control what content is visible. They can also personalize weather, stock quotes, and astrology content:
Inline video content can be found alongside article content:
To earn and maintain its valued position in the busy lives of customers, the MSN homepage puts a premium on smart and savvy daily news coverage, especially major breaking news. And the new MSN Mobile homepage would not be complete without offering the breaking news banner:
The new homepage can be accessed by going to http://mobile.msn.com on a range of mobile devices and browsers, including Safari on Apple iPhone, Safari on Android 1.x and 2.x, Opera 9.5 on Windows Mobile, and Webkit on Palm’s webOS. This device list will give us approximately 40% device coverage.
